LASIK is intended to correct myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. Custom LASIK can correct other irregularities that cause symptoms such as glare, halos, shadows and poor night vision. Please note, however, that LASIK may not be the best option for severe myopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. Also, people with certain existing vision problems may not be good candidates for LASIK.
NOTE: It is best to consult your eye doctor to determine whether or not you are a candidate for LASIK, and if the procedure is right for you.

If you needed reading glasses before LASIK, you will most likely still need them after the procedure. Similarly, if you had LASIK before you needed reading glasses, you will probably need them eventually. That’s because most people use reading glasses to correct presbyopia. Presbyopia is an age-related condition in which the natural lens loses elasticity, which impairs the eye’s ability to focus on near objects.
